Toblerone Cake Recipe. Aka - The Chocoholics Dream

Right this is it, I have never given this recipe out to anyone but so many people want to make it that I think it is time for me to let all my friends out there have a go for themselves. Good luck and enjoy.

6oz Caster Sugar
8oz  Unsalted Butter
10oz Toblerone  3 medium sized bars.
4oz Self Raising Flour
1oz  plain Flour
1oz   Dark Cocoa powder
2       Eggs
2oz    Milk Chocolate.

Oven Temp  160c  315f  gas 2-3.

Grease and Line a shallow tin 8x12 inch. Make sure the grease proof paper over hangs the tin.

Put the sugar, butter and a 1/3 of the toblerone in a pan with 125ml of hot water. Stir over a low heat until it had all melted then allow to cool slightly.
sift the flour and cocoa into a large bowl. Add the melted toblerone mixture into the flour and cocoa. Whisk all together then slowly add the eggs, do not over beat as the mixture will curdle.
Pour the mixture into the lined tin and scatter the rest of the single pieces of toblerone into the mixture as shown in the photo.

Bake for 45 mins. Leave to cool then melt the milk chocolate and pipe or drizzle over the top of the baked cake.  Then sit by and watch the cake vanish in about 5 mins. very very addictive.

Some more oldies!

Looking back through the photo's I also found the ultimate football fans dream cake I made for my son. Just looking at the smile on his face made all the hard baking worth while! And this my lovely readers is exactly the reason I bake.

The photo is unfortunately not the best quality, so it doesn't show much of the design. Yet of course you can tell it's a football pitch! As you can tell by the smile of his face he was more than happy with his birthday cake. However cutting into it is the difficult part!

Throwback sunday! Missing my lovely son already as he only left a few weeks ago to continue his studies in the UK. Being a mum isn't all as easy as it seems hey! I'll be posting more throughout the week as i've had some baking requests from my daughter. Keep you posted on how they turn out!

Have a fabulous sunday everyone xx

More cakes to come just having problems uploading, no surprise there.................

When your looking through old photo's!

Hello everyone, back again!

Sitting here with a glass of wine in my hand (no surprise there I can hear my friends say!)

While looking through boxes of old photos, I came across some photos of cakes that I have made over the years. Most of the Birthday cakes I will share with you have been made for my children, just like other mums out there do for their kids

I never went to College or University. I started work at 16 in a department store, but always had a passion for baking. I had no experience at all and could not afford to enrol for a baking course, so instead I bought a few learning videos on how to bake cakes (....yes back in my day we watched videos not DVDs.....) And that is how it all began.

Anyway, I started baking for fun but it became a huge passion. I just love to see the look on kids' faces when they see their cake in front of them! They have no idea of the hard work love and stress that has gone into making it......they just want to blow the candles out and eat it! But for me that is the best part.

Back when I lived in the UK, friends would ask me to bake cakes for different events, and that is how i got to learn all the different techniques needed to bake all different types of cakes. Practice makes perfect. I have had many disasters along the way, but you will be pleased to hear they won't appear on my blog as I didn't photograph them, they went straight into the bin! The finished product is so important -- you know what you want it to look like, and although I enjoy creating cakes and look forward to standing back and looking at the end result, sometimes the pressure can get to me.

Anyway, what i am trying to say is I am not a college-taught professional baker, but I bake from the heart and enjoy the pleasure my cakes bring to others.

This is a pool cake I made for my daughter's 13th Birthday.

My first ever post! How scary...

Well hello internet! I'm Kim and I have a passion for baking sweet treats for anything and anyone (more like an obsession). However just before I write any more about myself I thought I should let you all know that this idea of my blog is down to my crazy crazy daughter (I had no say whatsoever). Yet here I am writing away and giving in to her craziness! Writing has never been a passion of mine however baking and playing candy crush definitely are. I currently live in Singapore with my lovely family but I'm originally from the UK. In this boiling hot country I manage to get a lot of baking done... without melting. I am always baking for my friends and family whenever possible. You will always find me and my desserts at the centre of the table at any small friendly get together. For many years I've not only been baking everyday cakes, I also enjoy the sometimes difficult task of creating novelty birthday, wedding or celebration cakes. Here's a little example of one of my recently made novelty 21st Birthday Cakes. Just to warn all of you bloggers my photo taking skills are not as good as my baking, so I apologise and hope to convince my daughter to help me out a little more in that department!

Here is the camouflage skateboard cake as requested by my daughters boyfriend, whom has a slight obsession with the Duck Dynasty television programme.

Within my blog I'm going to be posting an awful lot about my favourite sweet & scrumptious treats (just in case you couldn't tell from my blog name). I hope to be moving forward shortly with my passion for baking in my home, beyond serving up my yummy temptations not only for my friends and family but to a wider circle.

In my very first post I thought I should tempt you all with my ultimate Toblerone heaven (I know I'm an evil woman). The yummy scrummy Toblerone brownies that will be eaten in 2.5 seconds in any family household. That is of course if you don't hate chocolate... then this is definitely not for you! On that note I shall leave you all drooling in chocolate heaven. Update you all with my next baking adventure shortly!

Take care all xx
